What our Three.js game source code includes

Nine of our games are 3D, built on Three.js 0.186.1 (r186) and written in TypeScript. Like every game we sell, each one ships as a complete project with its shared platform packages, unit tests, end-to-end tests and a lockfile, and builds to static files with no backend. Their initial downloads are the smallest in our catalog, between 300 and 382 KB.

Physics with Rapier

Three.js draws the scene; it doesn't simulate physics. Drift District and Tiny Rally add Rapier, an open-source physics engine compiled to WebAssembly, through the @dimforge/rapier3d-compat package, which suits car handling, slides and landings. The compat build bundles its WebAssembly into the JavaScript, so it works with Vite without extra configuration. The other seven 3D games don't depend on a physics engine.

How the 3D games perform on phones

Small initial downloads help on mobile data, but frame rate depends on the device's GPU. Three things help:

  • The quality URL parameter. A host page can start any game at a lower quality setting on weaker devices, alongside lang and mute.
  • Testing before launch. Our end-to-end tests run on desktop Chromium, Firefox and WebKit plus emulated Pixel 7 and iPhone 15 profiles. Emulation checks layout, touch and orientation, but it is not a real phone's GPU, so play the demos on the low-end devices your players use.
  • Care when you add content. If you add models or effects, keep draw calls and texture sizes in check. Reusing geometry with instancing and capping the device pixel ratio are the usual first steps; our HTML5 game performance guide covers the rest.

Three.js versions

Three.js changes between releases, and the lockfile pins r186 because that is the version we tested. If you update it, read the official migration guide and run the game's tests afterwards. The Three.js documentation is the reference for the APIs the games use, as of October 2026. For a wider view of 3D in the browser, see our guide to 3D HTML5 games.

Frequently asked questions

Can I download these 3D HTML5 games?

You can play every demo in the browser on its product page for free. The source downloads after purchase, as a ZIP in your library. Building it produces a folder of static files you can upload to any web host or CDN.

Which Three.js version do the games use?

Three.js 0.186.1, also called r186, pinned by the lockfile. We only state compatibility with the version we tested.

Do I need 3D modeling skills to customize them?

Not to rebrand or rebalance: names, colors, text and tuning values don't need a 3D tool. Each game's ASSETS.md lists where its models, textures and sounds come from, including anything generated in code, so you can see what replacing a car or a sculpture involves before you start.

Should I choose Phaser or Three.js?

Choose a Three.js game if the idea needs depth and a moving camera, such as driving, a 3D arena or objects players rotate. For 2D puzzles, tycoons, strategy and most arcade games, our Phaser game source code offers 41 games to start from.
